The feature that distinguishes it is the glue saver nozzle, which retracts partly dispensed droplets back into the bottle. That solves the specific nuisance of precision work: a droplet forms at the tip, you decide it is too large or in the wrong spot, and with an ordinary bottle it falls onto the bench or the workpiece.

How the glue saver nozzle works

Before you completely dispense a drop, release the pressure on the dispenser buttons and the glue saver retracts the glue back into the bottle. In practice, that means you can bring a droplet to the tip, look at it, and take it back if it is not what you wanted. Fast setting, and what that means for your workflow

A 10-second set time is short. With fine work, the practical implication is that all your positioning has to happen before the glue goes on. Dry-fit the pieces, work out exactly how they meet, and only then apply the drop. If the parts need to be held in a particular orientation, set up whatever will hold them — a bit of tape, a clamp, a bed of sand for an awkward ceramic shape — before you open the bottle rather than improvising with glue already on the join.

The 30-second hold in the directions is your grip time. Hold the parts steady rather than pressing hard; on a delicate item, force is more likely to break something else than to improve the bond.

The safety data sheet also gives the physical properties behind the classification: a colourless to straw-coloured liquid with a pungent odour, specific gravity 1.1, insoluble in water, flash point 80–93.4 °C, and a full cure of 12 hours.

The flash point puts H227 in proportion. At 80–93.4 °C this is a combustible liquid rather than a flammable one — Category 4 is the mildest rung of the flammability classification, and nothing you do on a bench at room temperature brings the adhesive near that temperature. It is a storage rule rather than a bench rule: keep the bottle away from heat sources, and out of a car or off a sunny windowsill. That is what the C1 classification under AS 1940 exists for.

The other three classifications bear on precision work precisely because it is precision work. Repairing jewellery or a ceramic chip means holding a small object close to your face under good light, for as long as the alignment takes. That posture puts your eyes and your airway nearer to a curing adhesive than any other job this product is sold for, which is what makes H319 and H335 more than paperwork here. Cyanoacrylate cures on contact with traces of moisture, which is both why it bonds in seconds and why the skin and eye advice below is written as firmly as it is. The first aid anticipates burns and blistering, which is more than H315 on its own would imply. That is a characteristic of the chemical class rather than of this bottle: the polymerisation reaction gives off heat, and cyanoacrylates are known to react quickly with cotton and wool, so a spill soaking into a glove or a sleeve is treated more seriously than the same drop on a fingertip.

Protection
