What are Technical Documents, and how do you use them?
This page is the Selleys technical documents library — a searchable, downloadable list of the technical data sheets for Selleys products. It has a search box, a "show more" control that reveals the list in pages, and tick boxes so you can select several documents and download them together as a single zip file.
The list is generated dynamically, so the documents shown are not fixed and this page does not reproduce them. Use the search box on the page itself to find the product you need; if nothing matches, the page will say so.
What a technical data sheet tells you
A technical data sheet (TDS) is the manufacturer's statement of how a product performs. It is the document to consult when you are choosing between two products, or when you need to know how long to leave a job before loading it. For a Selleys product, expect it to cover:
- Technology — the chemistry: acetic or neutral cure silicone, polyurethane, hybrid/SMP, PVA, epoxy, solvent-based contact adhesive. This is what determines most of the product's behaviour.
- Skin time and cure rate — for example, a silicone that skins in 5 to 10 minutes and cures at 2mm per 24 hours.
- Working time and bond development — for adhesives, the minutes you have after mixing, the initial bond time, and when maximum strength is reached.
- Joint movement capability — the percentage of the joint width a cured sealant can absorb, such as ±25% or ±50%.
- Service temperature range — the band the cured product is rated to work in.
- Substrates — what it will bond to, and what it will not.
- Coverage, packaging, directions and clean up.
- Limitations — the section that matters most, and the one most often skipped.
Read the limitations first
The limitations section is where a data sheet tells you what will go wrong, and it is usually short and specific. Examples from across the Selleys range:
- A wet area silicone that is not suitable for permanent water immersion, despite its name.
- A silicone that is not paintable, with a requirement that painting be completed seven days before the sealant is applied.
- A construction adhesive that should not be the sole bonding agent in a structural application.
- An epoxy that will not bond PTFE, polyethylene or polypropylene, and whose bond softens above 60°C.
- An expanding foam that must not be left permanently exposed to sunlight.
- An exterior wood adhesive that is for non-structural use and not for continuous submersion.
Every one of those is the difference between a job that lasts and a job that has to be done twice, and none of them is obvious from the pack.
Figures are indicative
Technical data sheets state their figures as indicative results obtained under stated laboratory conditions — commonly 23°C and 50% relative humidity — and not as a basis for preparing specifications. Cold slows every cure, clamp and set time; humidity slows moisture-curing silicones one way and water-based fillers the other; a deeper bead takes proportionally longer; and adhesive strengths quoted per square centimetre depend entirely on how much properly prepared surface you have joined.
Using this page
- Search by product name as it appears on the pack. The search filters the list as you type.
- Use "show more" to reveal further results — the list loads in pages.
- Tick several documents to take them as one zip, or use the control on each row for a single sheet.
Which document answers which question
| Question | Document |
|---|---|
| How long until I can use the shower / drive the car / load the joint? | Technical data sheet |
| Will it bond to this material? | Technical data sheet |
| Can I paint over it? | Technical data sheet |
| How much movement will the joint take? | Technical data sheet |
| Is it hazardous, and how do I handle and store it? | Safety data sheet |
| What is the first aid response? | Safety data sheet |
| Has it been tested to a standard such as AS1530.4-2014? | Test certificate |
Do not work from a similar product's data. An acetic cure silicone and a neutral cure silicone look identical in a cartridge and behave differently on stone and mirror. If the document is missing, ask through contact us.

Common questions about Selleys technical documents
What is a technical data sheet?
The manufacturer's statement of how a product performs — technology, cure and set times, substrates, coverage, directions and limitations.
How is it different from a safety data sheet?
The TDS covers performance; the SDS covers hazards, handling, storage and first aid. You often need both.
How do I find the sheet for my product?
Use the search box on this page and type the product name as it appears on the pack.
Are the figures on a data sheet guaranteed?
No. They are indicative results under stated laboratory conditions and are not a basis for preparing specifications. Cold, humidity, bead depth and bonded area all shift them.
Which part should I read first?
The limitations. That is where the product tells you what it must not be used on and what it must not be used for.
Can I use another product's sheet if mine is missing?
No. Similar-looking products can be different chemistries with different limits. Ask through contact us instead.
Where do I find compliance certificates?
What is the URL of Selleys' Technical Documents page?
The Technical Documents page is located at https://www.selleys.com.au/technical-documents/.
What company publishes the Technical Documents page?
The page is published by Selleys, an Australian adhesives, sealants and fillers brand and a division of DuluxGroup (Australia) Pty Ltd.
When was Selleys founded, and by whom?
Selleys was founded in 1939 in Sydney, Australia, by Martin Selley.
What is Selleys' relationship to DuluxGroup?
Selleys is a division of DuluxGroup (Australia) Pty Ltd, which serves as its parent organization.
What types of technical documentation are referenced for Selleys products?
The available documentation types include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) with hazard and safety information, Product Information Sheets with technical specifications and application guidance, Technical Data Sheets with detailed product properties and performance characteristics, and Installation Guides with step-by-step application procedures.
What kind of information can be found in a Selleys Safety Data Sheet (SDS)?
A Selleys SDS provides comprehensive hazard and safety information for various Selleys products, including safety data, hazard information, handling procedures, and first aid measures.
What topics does the Technical Documents knowledge base cover for Selleys products?
The knowledge base covers product information for specific Selleys products (adhesives, sealants, cleaners), safety data (hazard information, handling procedures, first aid measures), physical and chemical properties (density, viscosity, flash point, composition), application procedures, storage and transport conditions/regulations, and regulatory compliance information.
Does the Technical Documents page itself list specific product documents?
No, the page content itself is a directory-type page with no listed documents in its main content; it functions as an entry point where users must specify a product or topic to retrieve relevant technical information.
